It was found that the act of writing took place in a more dialogical way, different from that which traditionally takes place in the classroom. Engaging in the acts of blogging and giving feedback gave students the possibility to write for an audience whom they felt comfortable with, to portray themselves in their writing and to learn from and about their peers. This sense of community building was expressed by a student as seen in their learning log entries which can be seen below:
